On April 9, 2017, The Environmental Commission participated in the 2017 New Jersey Tree Recovery Program.  During which, they distributed 400 tree seedlings of various types to residents for planting.

Updates & Projects
  • Recently we donated 2 blossoming pear trees to the Greenwich Township schools, who planted them on Friday, April 29 for Arbor Day.
  • We will again be donating new Halloween Trick or Treat bags made of recycled material to the Recreation Committee and Greenwich schools.
  • We are also working on getting better recycling containers for the ball fields and soccer fields.
Department of Environmental Protection
The State of New Jersey, Department of Environmental Protection has distributed a fact sheet to those municipal offices that may deal with underground storage tank issues so that the information is available to the general public. More information can be found on the program webpage.
