There may be several reasons. 1) NO PLASTIC BAGS! Plastic bags jam up the sorting equipment.. 2) Your container should have "RECYCLE" markings or be blue or have sticker prominently displayed on it. You can get these stickers at the Municipal Building or Township Garage. 3) The can is larger than 35 gallons or weighs more than 50 pounds. 4) Greasy Pizza boxes or other greasy/dirty containers. Greasy items are trash - not recyclable.
As of November 2021 we don't have guidance from the state as yet. There is an industry flyer that describes how they plan to approach this in the near future...
